Dasargyris, the oldest taverna in Arachova is located on the main street of the village, just after the Primary School building (on the way to Delphi). This is a family-run taverna that is 100 years old, and the third generation of owners is now in charge.
The owner's parents, Mrs Roula and Mr Panagiotis, are in charge of the kitchen, preparing traditional homemade dishes that are very popular, putting this taverna on the top of the list of all visitors. The kontosouvli (meat on the spit) and the kokoretsi (wrapped intestines on the spit), but also the hotpots, such as stifado (meat dish with shallots), homemade pies, etc., stand out.
Finally, local cuisine delicacies that you should definitely try are the homemade pies with local greens (picked by Mrs Roula herself) and the rooster in wine sauce with hilopites (egg pasta) made by Mrs Roula.
