Sehre

Sehre, on Lakka Square, the most prominent location in Arachova, is the place to be all day long. It is one of the spots ranked on the top of everyone’s favourites list and stands out for its outdoor tables and striped tents, which give it a European flair and attract the crowd’s attention. Both its design and decor are unique and inspired, since they bear the slightest similarity with any other venue in the village. The mountain rustic concept is a product of the talented Nine Design team that always provides exciting results and the two owners, Thymios and Avgeris Sehremelis, which have repeatedly proven their deep affection for the mountain and everything authentic.

This chalet cafe bar is authentic to its core. That is the reason why it is difficult to simply like it and most people adore it and make it their haunt. In the morning you will be welcomed here to have your first coffee of the day and a hearty breakfast, which can cover all demands and tastes.  You should sample the homemade pies of mama Sehremelis (especially the pumpkin pie) that are served as part of the weekend breakfast, the quiche lorraine and the pancakes. If you crave something more classic, fresh baguettes, croissants and handmade sweets will satisfy your appetite. The afternoon is the ideal time to drink homemade rakomelo (raki and honey) and tsipouro. At night the venue transforms into a premium cocktail bar, maintaining its concept guidelines. Famous DJs play deep house, soul and dance music that keeps the crowd on their toes until late.

The menu’s trademark is the interesting wine list, which follows a value for money philosophy and at the same time is able to cover all tastes. You may choose from 20 labels (white, rose and red wines) from the local and the Greek vineyard, as well as one option from France and one from Spain. The entries from the local producers come from Argyriou Winery, Lykos Winery and Samartzis Estate Wines. The list offers many options served in a glass, with prices starting from €5-€6, while the cost of a bottle is around €20-€40. This year Giannis Lefas will be holding the reigns of the bar and you will find that he is willing to find out and prepare for you exactly what you want to drink. The real and selective drinkers should look out for the Japanese special whiskies, perfect for a high quality tasting experience. More specifically the iconic Nikka from the Barrel, a single malt and grain blend, will satisfy even the most demanding. If you passionately look for places that stand out for leaving their mark, Sehre should definitely be included on your list.
