Athinais Cultural Centre is located in an impressive 5,000 sq.m. space between Votanikos and Kerameikos.
Here “Art meets everyday life”, as stated by its motto. There are event and conference halls, restaurants, bars, cafes, a theatre and a music stage, as well as galleries (Art Through Time Museum), which have housed interesting exhibitions.
The building’s history is also interesting. It dates back to 1920 when it was home to a natural silk production factory. Since then, the building’s role has changed many times and after many years of 'silence', during this last decade Athinais was converted into a creation, communication and action cell, maintaining its industrial character.
These days, the Athinais Tower Loft project is in progress; a space with a total surface area of 9,000 sq.m. which will accommodate 72 luxurious lofts with endless views of the Acropolis, which will follow the mantra that “art begins from the residence itself”.
