Bartesera, in Praxitelous arcade on Kolokotroni Street, is one of the first bars in the region, which saw "something" in this neighbourhood and made going out downtown our favourite habit. Its name is a pun derived from the words bar, art, sera and tesera.
You take a few steps in the arcade and you are found in a wonderful, filled with lush green plants patio, with a roof that opens or closes depending on the weather. With two other spaces on both sides, an urban exotica and slightly vintage feel and sense is creating, as the "urban" and "natural" are uniquely combined.
The music follows exactly this urban exotic fusion, mixing funk basslines, soul wind instruments, exotic African percussion instruments with modern materials and soundscapes of today's city. The outcome is excellent and very original.
Its menu features a number of handmade snacks, prepared on the spot in their own kitchen, with fresh ingredients, selected from small, local producers, which perfectly accompany wines and beers of the same quality and origin. You can try fresh salads with talagani cheese, salmon and caramelized louza (local ham), club sandwiches with turkey or pastrami, tasty pizzas and excellent bruschettas with prosciutto or marinated tomato or goat cheese and spinach.
You will also find coffee made with expertise and enthusiasm, refreshing homemade lemonades and desserts.
Saving the best for last, the amazing list by Alexandros Dontas, with premium labels and an extremely thought-out cocktail list, consists of both his own unique signatures and slightly modified classic choices.
