The much-vaunted Block 146, on Charilaou Trikoupi Street in the centre of Nea Erythraia, combines coffee with food and drinks in an industrial setting with elements of a classic New York bistrot. The space is made up of characteristic materials like brick, plaster, mosaic tiles, mirrors, unique lighting and blinds, making it the Greek equivalent of respective restaurants in the Big Apple.
This famous spot is an all-day option for starting your day with a hearty breakfast and aromatic coffee, continuing at noon with Mediterranean creative cuisine flavours (as well as sushi) and rounding off the evening's experience with a lot of fun.
The chef's dishes stand out for their cosmopolitan character and new techniques. Salmon tartar with mango, wasabi, avocado, rice chips and wakame, beef carpaccio with arugula, capers, lemon and pecorino cheese flavoured with truffles, veal steak with mushroom ragout, asparagus and mashed potatoes with truffle oil, tagliata from picanha Black Angus with mass potato salad and tobinabur puree flavoured with cardamom and the fresh pasta like the tagliatelle ragout with veal cheek slowly-cooked and pecorino cream will tempt you like nothing before.
However, another thing that makes Block 146 stand out is the fact that it hosts a different event on site almost on a daily basis. It hosts every Wednesday live nights with prominent artists of the Greek music scene, every Thursday the "One Dance" party with r'n'b and house music, and every Friday the "Break the Rules" party with the musical choices of DJ Pano. Every Saturday the DJ Giorgos Varveris takes over the torch, while on Sundays fun is off the charts with the "Greek Sunday's Afternoon" party full of Greek hits exclusively.
