Halandri is a continuously and rapidly developing suburb in the northeastern of Athens. Apart from its commercial centre and well-maintained pedestrian streets, it has made a strong entry into the food and entertainment arena, offering a choice of quality restaurants and bars.

Many call this area the “new centre”, and they are right. Apart from the advantage of having its own metro station, it has many interesting choices for food and entertainment on offer. The area has always been a popular shopping destination thanks to its large and well-stocked market place.

Halandri is the biggest municipality in the northern suburbs, connecting Athens with Penteli Mountain, while bordering on the municipalities of Marousi, Holargos and Agia Paraskevi. The central Eleftheroton Square or Agiou Nikolaou Square gives life to the area with its trendy cafes and various other recreational choices.

Agiou Georgiou, Andrea Papandreou, Agias Paraskevis as well as the central pedestrianised streets such as Haimanta are ideal to shop 'til you drop. You can find restaurants and bars on almost every street, with the majority located around the central square as well as on Irakleiou, Ifikratous and Thoukididou streets.
