In the picturesque pedestrian street of Apostolou Pavlou in Thiseio, the renovated Chocolat Royal is an all-day multi-venue destination, which stands out for its location, with splendid views of the Acropolis, as well as the quality services offered.
On the ground floor, there is the wine bar, which is overseen by the sommelier Dimitris Spyropoulos. There, you will find a list of 120 wine labels mainly from small producers, of which 29 are offered by the glass. In addition, it also operates as a wine cellar, where you can also purchase wines at a special price.
The delicious palette is filled with dishes of Mediterranean and Greek cuisine by chef Spiros Mallios. Those that stand out are the honey roasted pork with sangria and rosemary, sweet potato puree and steamed vegetables, and the lamb shank, cooked in the oven for hours, flavoured with sage and accompanied with fresh potato gnocchi. Special emphasis has also been given to the dessert, which is a must after dinner.
On sunny days, the tables on the pedestrian street are filled with people enjoying the view of the archaeological site and the people walking by. On the second floor, the roof garden is ideal to enjoy your cocktail or a unique lunch or dinner, with the majestic backdrop of the Acropolis, Lycabettus Hill and Athens.
The first floor features an innovative and highly interesting concept. The Ancient Gourmet is introducing the visitors of Chocolat Royal to ancient Greek recipes. With the thematic evenings by Mandy Karameri and the culinary application of the chef Spiros Mallios as well as references found in rare scripts and historical books (even from 3000 BC), the Ancient Gourmet will introduce you to the secrets of ancient Greek healthy eating habits and enjoyment. It is available only with reservation for special occasions, corporate events and tourist groups.
