The feeling you get as you enter Family, in the central square of Voula, is, as its name suggests, very cozy and… familial!
The decor, the vintage furniture and the cozy atmosphere –the premises’ design is signed by the famous George Panteloukas– are reminiscent of superb houses located in a city somewhere in Europe. Family is an ideal all day option for relaxation with an aromatic coffee, a filling breakfast or brunch, delectable international cuisine dishes, as well as neat cocktails at night.
The selection of the raw ingredients used to prepare everything here is based on quality, while all the dishes are based on familiar flavours, without any extreme gourmet touches.
For a light lunch or a delightful dinner, chef George Pappas suggests the battered chicken stuffed with gruyere, grape, spearmint white sauce and caramelized baby potatoes, the baby beef sirloin tagliata with mushroom sauce and basmati rice, the Family burger with a 280 gr beef burger, fried egg, tomato, iceberg, onion rings, bacon, cheddar and aromatic mayo, black tagliolini with smoked salmon sauteed with vodka, finocchio and brik.
If you come here to lay back with a drink in hand at night, you should know that the team “Pinoume Ellada” (Drink Greece in Greek) has created a very interesting cocktail list which includes suggestions that will catch your eye. Among them those that stand out are the Sbagliato Grapefruit (Campari, Vermouth Rosso, Moschato D’Αsti, pink grapefruit and grapefruit Bitters), the Family Spritz (Aperol, M Dry Mastiha, Schweppes Bitter Lemon and citrus), the Blue-Azul Sangria (bubbly blue wine, London Dry Gin, spices, citrus fruits and fruits of forest), the Green-Verde Sangria (Cinzano gran sec, Sake, liqueur from unripen fruits, Sprite, ginger, green apples and strawberries).
Two of its highlights are the “hidden” back yard and the large open air space in the cobbled square.
