The Museum of Contemporary European Painting in Greece has been housed in two radically refurbished neoclassical buildings in Plaka, in the historic center of Athens, since 2000.
The Frissiras Museum plays host to a permanent collection of approximately 3.500 paintings and sculptures on the human form by both Greek and foreign artists of the last 50 years as well as retrospective solo and group exhibitions by contemporary artists.
The building on 3 Monis Asteriou Street has a shop with various art objects, selected books, handmade jewellery and a cafe, which is available for lectures, presentations, concerts etc.
