A multivenue of taste and art is precisely the description that matches the second store of Mystic Pizza & Pasta in Pagrati behind Kallimarmaro.
The restaurant is housed in a building, which used to house Megaritis tavern, one of the most historic taverns of Pagrati, for many decades. With the same philosophy as the eponymous restaurant in Exarchia and its famous pizzas made with organic hemp flour (an originality across Greece) being a point of reference, it also serves fresh, handmade pasta and tasty dishes influenced from the Italian cuisine as well as vegan choices in pizza, pasta and desserts.
Its small grocery store at the entrance is an excellent addition as its shelves are filled with selected products of small producers from various parts of Greece –kavourmas and sausage from Evros, saffron and sea-buckthorn from Kozani, anthotyro cheese from Syros, kasseri cheese from Xanthi, smoked goat cheese from Naoussa, smoked apaki from Chania etc. Some of them, in fact, are used in a number of dishes, while you can, of course, buy them for home. Dishes like kavourmas saganaki, chickpeas in a pot and lahmacun with ground beef are its best sellers for a good reason.
Another thing that will surely pique your interest is the fact that Mystic places particular emphasis on art and hosts on its premises photo and painting exhibitions. There are also organized live events mainly with jazz and alternative, music sounds from time to time.
Our favourite spot is the underground cellar with the stone walls, which is available for more private moments and events. Its unique cocktail list that has been created for those who simply want to come for a relaxing drink is definitely another asset.
