Numismatic Museum
The Numismatic Museum is located on a 19th century monumental building and what used to be the house of Heinrich Schliemann, in the heart of Athens.

It is considered one of the oldest Greek cultural institutions. Its foundation is dated 1834, the year the National Archaeological Museum was founded as well. In its permanent collection, which is hosted on the 1st and 2nd floor of the building, coins, treasures, medals, etc. are included; there it is presented the coin’s history from the Roman antiquity until today. Besides the permanent collection, periodic exhibitions that attract special interest are hosted as well.

On the museum’s 1st floor you will find a gift shop (it's open the same hours as the museum) where you can obtain exact copies of ancient Greek coins and jewellery, cards, notebooks and toys.
