Since September 2015, when it first opened, it has managed to stand out in the public choices both in Voula and in the wider region of the southern suburbs. This is Oppen, an all-day bar with Scandinavian character, at least decorative-wise, comfort food choices throughout the day and particular emphasis on quality -in all of its aspects.
With a value for money philosophy and "persistence" to quality of both raw ingredients and provided services –everything here is prepared in its kitchen–Oppen is ranked among the honest haunts of Voula, that we visit every time we are in... its dens!
We visit it for its hearty breakfast that is served daily 09.00-15.00 and consists of delicious proposals, such as eggs in various versions, pancakes, toasts, various sandwiches, etc., with the best seller being the juicy and – according to the general consensus– excellent burger from 100% black angus ground beef in a bun of your choice (brioche or whole-grain). Other burgers that stand out are the oppen burger with goat cheese, lettuce, onion rings, smoked bacon and oppen sauce.
Its card also features other proposals such as salads, appetizers and burgers without beef, all signed by the chef (and co-owner) Dimitris Damalas.
And when the night comes? The quality and aromatic coffee passes the torch to the inspired cocktail list which consists of both the homie recipes of Oppen –updated according to the season and depending on the raw ingredients– and the classic choices. The oppen punch is highly popular, with white and dark rum, passion fruit, pineapple juice and fresh lemon.
