Since May 2014, authentic pie lovers have found a new haunt in Kolonaki. This is the one and only Pie Works, on Amerikis street.
The aromas that come from Niki's open "workshop" will take you back to your childhood. Her love as well as her very good friend Elpida's love for the handmade pies with the traditional filo pastry like grandmothers used to make –they use only olive oil– is reflected in the way they make it right in front of you. Only the purest and of the highest quality ingredients are used for making the pies, just as they would do at home. Here, and only here, you will try unique flavours and original combinations that you will find nowhere else in Athens.
Without ever dropping their guard, they continue to experiment in the workshop creating new and original combinations of flavours that you won’t find anywhere else in Athens. The brand new proposals on the menu that stand out include the onion pie with cream cheese, the savoury pumpkin pie with yellow pumpkin, the pork pie with honey and mustard and the kasseri pie with authentic kasseri cheese.
From its best seller proposals, the chicken pie with curry still is at the helm (it is admittedly one of a kind), while the old-time classics include the cheese pie, the spinach pie and the leek pie. Note that the pies are served with salad and a dip, which makes them ideal for a lunch break, both healthy and delicious, which you can enjoy at Pie Works tables.
Brand new on the menu are also the day soups in various flavours, such as pumpkin soup with yellow pumpkin, chicken soup with noodles and vegetables, broccoli soup with blue cheese, mushroom soup, etc.
Niki and Elpida have provided for the sweets lovers as well with crumble apple pie and orange pie.
This year, in fact, they have yet another surprise stored for us, as they undertake the catering of social events, children's parties, corporate events, etc.
