Psiri is one of the most historical and picturesque in the city, as well as a tourists’ favourite.
At short distance from Monastiraki, it is surrounded by the streets Evripidou, Geraniou, Sofokleous, Athinas, Ermou, Pireos and Agion Asomaton. Its central square is called Iroon Square (due to the names of the streets crossed here) and you will find taverns with live music, original galleries and beautiful cafe-bars here. Small, narrow streets, paved with stone during the last years and short buildings play the leading role here.
About 10 years ago Psiri came in focus and at the same time became the favourite entertainment spot of every local or foreign tourist, of every target group, thanks to its intense life and pulse. Therefore abroad it is considered the Greek Soho. Wander in its narrow streets –beware of thieves– and enjoy the urban magic of a historical neighbourhood that combines the past with the modern urban culture.
