Technopolis City of Athens, in the heart of Athens, more specifically in Gazi district, is a lively multi-use cultural venue. The main goal of its creation was to support arts, development, entrepreneurship, innovation, education, promotion of industrial heritage and to raise the public's awareness regarding social issues.
Housed in one of the most important industrial monuments of the city, where the gas plant used to be since 1854, Technopolis City of Athens is nowadays a meeting point for cultural events that cover a wide range of arts such as music, dancing, cinema, theatre, visual arts, etc., with more than 700,000 visitors every year.
The appeal of another era that is created by the chimneys, furnaces and the huge barrels (gasholders) impress visitors who go there to enjoy the museum walk in a place full of images, knowledge and emotions, as well as to take part in one of the interesting events.
One of the most important venues in Technopolis City of Athens is the Industrial Gas Museum that opened in January 2013 in order to promote unknown aspects of the modern history of Athens. The creation of Innovation and Entrepreneurship Intersection (INNOVATHENS), which started in May 2014, is equally interesting as it is a complete Innovation and Entrepreneurship Support Infrastructure.
