To Eidikon

The only authentic delicatessen-taverna left in Piraeus, To Eidikon can be found behind the tobacco factories around the port, on the border of Piraeus and Tambouria.

This favourite hangout of renowned Greek singer Stelios Kazantzidis and rembetiko composers and musicians, Giannis Papaioannou and Vassilis Tsitsanis has become a reference point for the famous and the like of the city who worship this authentic Greek neighbourhood and seek out simple homemade dishes.

To Eidikon opened in 1920 as a delicatessen (as you'll notice from the decoration of the interior) and was converted into a small taverna in 1980 with Mrs. Voula in the kitchen and Mr. Apostlos in the front.

Try the fava, village sausage, liver, or the fried meatballs.
