A service charge is included in restaurant bills when you dine and bar bills for drinks. However, it is customary to leave a 10% tip on the total of the bill, if you are happy with the overall experience.

Otherwise, medical care must be paid for except for visits to emergency rooms.

Banks in Athens are open from 08.00 to 14.30, with the exception of Fridays when they close at 14.00. ATM machines can be found everywhere, so you will have no problems withdrawing money. Note that credit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Diners) are accepted at large hotels and at shops and restaurants.
