Aradaina belongs to the municipality of Sfakia (3 km west of Anopoli village) and offers one of the most impressive natural landscapes in the Chania prefecture. It has the steepest gorge (138 meters deep). The route through the gorge is magnificent and ends on Marmara beach.

Aradaina gorge, formerly called, Faraggas, is one of the most beautiful and biggest in the region. It is 15 meters long (the hiking trail starts at the abandoned village of Aradaina and is 7 meters long). The two sides are connected by a metal bridge built by the Vardinoyiannis family in the mid 1980s and is a reference point for bungee jumping fans.

The village was abandoned in 1950 and the surving attractions include the 14th century Byzantine church of Archangel Michael.
