While on holidays in Chania, the lovers of authentic, Italian ice cream will make Delizia gelateria one of their favorite and standard stops within the day.
Christos and Matteo created a gorgeous gelateria on Chalidon Street in the heart of the Old Town, so that they can introduce you to authentic, Italian flavours based on their own recipes straight from Tuscany, Matteo's hometown.
They use the best raw materials. Placing great emphasis on quality the raw materials are carefully selected from Chania and the rest of Crete. The imported products that they use have been awarded for their quality.
A total of 50 different ice cream flavours are made in the workshop, which is open to the public, so that they can see the production process, with 20-30 of these being available daily. The flavours that really stand out are the fruit-flavoured sorbets from organically-grown, fresh fruit such as mango, strawberries, orange, mandarin; the cassata with cream cheese and spoon sweets, the torrone (available only at Delizia, this is an authentic, Italian recipe with caramelised hazelnuts and nougat) and the tiramisu (alcohol-free with Italian mascarpone and lady finger biscuits), the best in the entire town!
An alternative choice is frozen yoghurt, which is made from yoghurt that is produced in Chania and fresh milk and is accompanied by a variety of handmade syrups that are made from fresh fruits such as raspberry, blueberry, fruits of the forest, strawberry, etc.
