The historic Rex restaurant opened its doors in 1932 on one of the most central streets in the Old Town, just behind Liston. Located on the busy Kapodistriou Street, you will be able to try authentic local dishes such as rooster pastisado, beef sofrito and chicken with local kumquat sauce.
This season's menu is renewed with highly-creative and modern Greek cuisine proposals. The traditional Corfiot dishes are still available, however, from the new proposals we highly recommend the pork cheeks with celeriac puree and a sauce with Porto wine and cognac, the grilled smoked eel with greens, beets and bacon vinaigrette which you can also order as a light lunch, the fish fillet with stuffed zucchini, bouillabaisse sauce and verbena, while the “tweaked baklava” is one of the desserts that will blow your mind.
Another great asset is its renewed wine list that honours the Greek and the international vineyards. We stood out the excellent Assyrtiko de Louros from Hatzidakis and the Domaine Lazaridi with the impressive bottle, as well as the Manteio from Argyriou, the Idylle la tour Melas (rose) and the IB Cabernet Franc from Domaine Hatzimichalis (red).
