In the bay of Mount Athos, very close to the monastic community, emerges the small island of Ammouliani, which is accessible from the port of Trypiti at the Athos peninsula.

The only inhabited island of Halkidiki, covering a total area of 4.5 square kilometres, consists of small coves, pristine beaches (Alykes, Agios Georgios, Karagatsia, Nissakia, Megali Ammos), lush vegetation (Ammouliani is covered with olive trees and shrubs) and trekking paths.

Small boats depart from Ammouliani for a cruise around the imposing Mount Athos.
