All three peninsulas of Halkidiki offer a variety of options to their visitors when it comes to beaches, most of which are awarded with a blue flag.
Their common characteristics are the crystal clear water and the lush vegetation that surrounds most of them (and often stretches out to the seashore). Nevertheless, their difference lies in whether they are sandy, pebbly or rocky. In their vast majority, beaches in Halkidiki are equipped with numerous facilities, beach bars and taverns, and offer their visitors all necessary amenities.
The better known and most spectacular beaches in Kassandra are Afytos, Kallithea, Siviri, Nea Fokaia, Pefkohori, Sani, Fourka and Chanioti, while in Sithonia note Kalogria, Nikiti, Ai Giannis, Elia, Koviou, Vourvourou, Neos Marmaras and Sarti. In the Athos peninsula, some of the most famous beaches are Alykes, Agios Pavlos, Kambos, Nea Roda, Ouranoupoli, Porto Agio, Stratoni and the three beaches of Ierissos.
