Nea Fokaia
Nea Fokaia

At the beginning of the eastern part of the Kassandra peninsula, after Nea Potidaia, Nea Fokaia features a picturesque little harbour with taverns and cafes along the pier, where you can relax watching the fishing boats approach the coast.

One of its main attractions is the Tower of Agios Pavlos (Saint Paul), which was constructed in 1407 on a hill and is 17 metres high. The Tower formed part of a monastery that had also served as a base for Emmanuel Papas during the 1821 Greek War of Independence. Do not forget to visit the Holy Well of Agios Pavlos, which leads to a rectangular room with a basin where the sacred water is collected.
