19km east of Heraklion city, Gouves is one of the most popular tourist resorts in the prefecture, and it is divided into two sections. The traditional Ano Gouves village at an altitude of 300m at the foot of Mount Everis, with a magnificent view, and Kato Gouves (best known as Gouves) which is most popular with tourists.

The resort is easily accessible via the main asphalt road, and it is about a 20-minute car ride from Heraklion, with plenty of facilities for visitors (there are many places to have a cup of coffee or a meal on the main coastal road) that choose to spend their summer holidays here.

The beach is particularly popular among families, as there is sand and the waters are rather shallow. You will also find beach umbrellas and chaise longues, water sports and scuba diving facilities, etc.

Don't miss out on visiting the seaside chapel of Agiou Konstantinou and Elenis, located in a small woods with pine trees.
