On the south side of the prefecture, 72km (1,5 hr. drive) from the centre of Heraklion city, Lentas is a settlement by the sea that is ideal for quiet and relaxing holidays, away from the crowded tourist resorts.
Access to the capital of the prefecture is easy since there is an asphalt road that runs through the wild mountains of Crete. As you drive along, you will have the chance to admire the natural beauty of the area (towards the village and towards the Libyan sea), a scenery that stand out.
At the village beach with the fine pebbles and the clear waters you will find beach umbrellas and chaise longues, while you can also do water sports. At the tavernas in the settlement you can have some of the local delicacies.
Note that the caretta-caretta turtles lay their eggs on this beach.
