Mavri Paralia beach is accessible only by sea, more specifically from the Treis Ekklisies village, and it is located in the south part of the prefecture. It is one of the most beautiful and unspoilt beaches in Heraklion.
It is 60km from the Cretan capital, and it stands out for the fine black pebbles, as the name suggests (mavri meaning black), and the crystal clear waters.
The beautiful scenery is very impressive because of the high rocks behind the coast and the caves seen in them.
There are no facilities on the beach, so make sure you have everything you might need with you. There is a boat going from Tsoutsouras to Mavri Paralia beach on a daily basis, so you can arrange a day trip.
