Parasies

On the coastal avenue of Heraklion, near the Historical Museum square, at Parasies restaurant -the name comes from the word parasia which refers to hearth (usually at home) created by stone plates placed parallel one to the other, between which the fire is burning- you will have Greek and Cretan cuisine dishes.

All the dishes on the menu are made with local ingredients such as organic vegetables, Cretan rusks, local, free range meats, wild greens, etc. The smoked pork steak, calf fillets with staka (goat milk fat), etc., stand out.

At the end of your meal make sure you try one of the mouth-watering desserts along with some authentic, Cretan raki.
