Trypiti is a pebbled beach with crystal clear waters, located in the south part of the prefecture, close to Lentas coast, 65km from Heraklion city centre.

You have to go through Trypiti gorge with the very high rocks and the impressive scenery in order to get to the beach. The road (at some points wide enough only for one car) coves the needs of those visiting the area.

Alternatively, follow the road that from Lentas, move along the coast to Trafoulas cape, from where you can see the Libyan sea.

There are no facilities on the beach, and it is an ideal choice for campers. All you will find is a taverna serving homemade dishes. If you are after some shade, there are quite a few tamarisks along the beach.
