Although most associate Hydra with a cosmopolitan air and stylish touch, the majestic island boasts a rich "asset" in terms of its beaches. Reachable on foot, by donkey and water taxi, they have one thing in common -crystal blue water. Organized or not, sand, pebble and even rocky, you are certain to find one to suit your needs.
Starting from town and heading south to the heart of the port, you will come across Spilia and a short distance from there, Hydronetta (both of which are organized). Large rocks, from where you can dive into the deep blue water, characterize them. About 20 minutes on foot from Spilia, you will reach Kamini with its small picturesque harbor, the seaside village of Vlihos and Plakes Vlihou which are also organized.
If you take water transport, you can reach the more remote coasts of Bisti and Agios Nikolaos in the south of the island. Lastly, a beach you really should visit is Limnioniza on the east coast of Hydra.
