The impressive Cotommatae Hydra 1810 hotel opened its gates on the majestic island in June 2012 and has made a difference. It is housed in a historic building which takes us back in time to the 1821 Greek Revolution. According to tradition, the mansion was built in 1810 by Lazaros Kountouriotis, an island hero, and its name is attributed to the great grandfather of the current owner, Dimosthenis Cotommatis, a shipowner and sponge merchant, who made radical repairs to the building.
The spaces combine a sense of history with modern amenities to offer you an unforgettable stay. The stone and wood, white walls and lemon fragrance from the garden are its redeeming features. There are also verandas, gardens, and terraces with sofas for relaxation.
Its 5 dreamy suites and 2 romantic double rooms are ready to welcome you. Each of them has its own decor with names taken from their original use when the guesthouse was the Cotommatis family residence.
The traditional breakfast is homemade and includes handmade pies, local sweets and freshly squeezed juice. Breakfast is served either in the lounge or in your room, if you wish.
