Historical Archive Museum

The Historical Archive Museum is located by the port of Hydra, 2 minutes from where you disembark the ship and just a few meters from the sea.

Founded in 1918, it is housed in a building donated to the state by Gikas N. Koulouras. The then mayor of the island, Antonios Lignos, discovered at the Kimisis tis Theotokou monastery records which have since been classified. Some years later the building was torn down before taking its current design in 1972.

The museum is open every day and is divided into three sections, the Archives Department, the Museum and the library.
