One of the most green and beautiful spots in Argostoli is Napier Gardens. It is a lush park, with a great variety of trees and plants, winding paths, benches and a gazebo in the middle. It is an ideal place for quiet walks in the center of the capital, as it is located within walking distance from the lively Vallianou Square.
It owes its name to the British Governor Napier, who in the mid-19th century executed many important infrastructure projects that still exist today. Inside the park, which was renovated a few years ago, you will see his bust, as well as the war memorial to the fallen.
