Eleftherias Square
Eleftherias Square

Any time you visit Eleftherias Square, the central point in the city of Kos, you'll find that it's bustling with life as locals and visitors alike visit on a daily basis, making it the busiest spot on the island.

It's worth sitting at one of the numerous cafes to enjoy your coffee in the large paved square, to gaze in shop windows around it and also buy some local products from the Municipal Market located in its centre.

Eleftherias Square is also home to the Defterdar Mosque, known as the Mosque of Kos, which was built around 1780 and is named after the Minister of Finance, Sultan Ibrahim Efendi.
