Phonograph Museum
Phonograph Museum

The Phonograph Museum is located in the heart of the town of Lefkada, in a street crossing the main pedestrian precinct (the locals call it "bazaar"). Established in 1980, it is a private effort with a purpose none other than the foregrounding of the modern folklore history of the island.

Result of individual initiative, all of the items in the museum, housed in a small room, are due to its collector and founder, Mr. Takis Katopodis. Among them you will see an interesting collection of phonographs, barrel organs, guns and swords, the calendar and photos of the local poet Aristotelis Valaoritis, the first Constitution of the Ionian Islands, pictures of Maria Callas, Venetian notes, other musical instruments, old household items, etc.
