Braised cauliflower is a simple and quick recipe that can be eaten alone or accompanied with meat.
2.5 kilos cauliflower
1 cups oil
1 medium-sized onion, finely chopped
1 tbls tomato paste
Clear away the exterior leaves and stalk of the cauliflower and cut into medium-sized pieces, wash and strain well. Place cauliflower on a platter or pan, pour over the lemon juice and season with salt and pepper. Heat the oil in the frying pan and fry a few cauliflower pieces at a time.
Place the fried cauliflower in a pot and add the fry the onion in the frying pan oil until slightly golden. Then pour in the tomato paste, which you have mixed in with a cup of water, Once it comes to the boil a couple of times pour the contents of the frying pan into the pot with the cauliflower. Place the pot on the heat and once it comes to the boil, add 1 more cup of water. Allow to simmer until liquid has been absorbed.
