Historical & Folklore Museum of Kalamata

Located in the Kalamata's historical center is the Historical & Folklore Museum of Kalamata, which is housed in a manor that was donated to the Municipality by the Kyriakou family. The museum operates since 1973 and promises to travel you back in time.

Through the museum's exhibits the visitor becomes a partaker in the Kalamata residents' lifestyle and daily life of yesteryear, while being shown how agricultural industry, weaving, pottery and other urban occupations operated and closely observing the representations of the town's traditional home and coffee shop.

The collection also includes items from the Greek Revolution, traditional costumes, items from ecclesiastical and byzantine art, as well as an extremely interesting typography and book binding collection.
