Rex Hotel is located in the heart of Kalamata's historical center next to the Town Hall, which can be found on the Aristomenous pedestrian strip. Given that it operates since 1899, it is one of the most historical hotels in the city and is housed in one of Kalamata's first neoclassical building that dates back to the end of the 19th century.
1999 marks the full renovation of the Rex Hotel and the reopening of its renewed and upgraded services and amenities to the public. Having accommodated actors, politicians, scientists, writers and athletes (both Greek and foreigners), it more than meets the current demands.
All 42 rooms and the 2 suites have a neoclassical decor –as do all other areas for that fact–while they feature modern amenities.
On the ground floor you will find a restaurant that bears the same name as the hotel, which features both Greek and international cuisine. The cafe-bar, of a neoclassical decor, can be found next to the restaurant and there you can enjoy fresh juices, aromatic coffee, croissants, tasty snacks, ouzo accompanied by delicacies and mouth-watering sweets.
