Particularly well known with an exceptional taste, the talagani –the name given to the shepherd's overcoat - is a cheese that originates from Cyprus.

The talagani, which has been produced in Messinia since 2007, is made from 100% sheep's milk, it has a creamy texture and it can be compare to the formaela cheese from Arachova and the Cypriot halloumi.

It is most commonly used for saganaki (fried cheese), although it is ideal with salads and roasted fruit.
