An old spice store dived in to current times and brought with it to the island one of the most beautiful and group-friendly restaurants, Bakalo. Located in the Lakkas area, a stone's throw away from the bus stop, Bakalo continues with the philosophy of enjoying and sharing your 'mezedakia' with friends.
The menu offers you distinctive Cycladic dishes chosen by the talented chef, Yannis Gavalas, and hosts Nikos Nanou, Egidio Guerreri and Vicky Hatzidaki. It is indeed no coincidence that is the only restaurant in Mykonos which is certified by Aegean Cuisine.
The chef has received the best reviews, and has managed to create delicious and unique dishes following traditional Greek recipes and enhancing them with a contemporary twist. We highly recommend the grilled calamari stuffed with spinach and tarmac vinaigrette, and the grilled magiatiko with vegetable tabouleh and spices. Make sure you try the new dish, grilled octopus with fava from Santorini and rovitsa (small beans) as well as the marinated with lime prawns with tabouleh.
For dessert, try the kserotigana (fried pastry ribbons) with Mykonian honey-pie ice cream. This year's new entry is the tahini mousse with pasteli and pomegranate coolies.Round off your meal with rose geranium liqueur - a complementary offer from the restaurant.
