Bonis' Windmill is located in Ano Miloi and is the only one of its kind offering the opportunity to explore its interior. It is an annex of the Folklore Museum of Mykonos.
Built in the 16th century, it owes its name to its last owner, the miller Georgios Bonis.
It is the only open-air museum in the Aegean and its most prominent exhibit is the windmill or “Bonis’ Windmill”, which is surrounded by a number of agricultural facilities (the miller’s house, threshing floor, oven, wine press, water well and water tanks, dovecote, pig farm and twin churches).
On the first floor you will see the area where the flour was weighed, on the second floor is the warehouse where they stored supplies and on the last floor you will see the windmill mechanism.
