Raya is a new entry in Gialos, one of the most prominent neighborhoods in Mykonos Town, which gave it a qualitative touch. This bar-restaurant cafe boasts its minimal design and invites you to fully accommodate your every need.
You can come here early in the morning to taste its full breakfast menu (daily 09.00-12.00) which includes a variety of egg dishes (its specialties are the eggs benedict and the croque madame, but if you want to taste the local cuisine you should order scrambled eggs with tomato, Mykonos sausage and feta cheese), sandwiches, smoothies, pancakes, yogurts, fresh fruit juices, cakes etc.
Raya’s kitchen opens early and all you have to do is allow chef Lefteris Marinos to take you on a journey to the tastes of the Mediterranean Sea. Three dishes stand out from the rich menu: the seafood spaghetti with light wine sauce, the pappardelle with an assortment of mushrooms, parmesan sauce and fresh truffles and the shrimp risotto with spicy salami and pumpkin. One of the menu’s best sellers is the kinoa salad with mykonian tamarisk flavor, groats, chili, cucumber, Mykonos louza, tomato, spearmint, onion and yogurt.
Note that Raya bakes its meats in a specialized Josper oven that enhances their flavors. Sample the black angus tagliata or if go full throttle and order the black angus burger. Fresh fish fans will also be satisfied since the menu includes goodies from the depths of the sea which arrive daily from the local fishermen’s boats.
Raya’s exquisite wine list is featured high on the island’s relevant value for money chart due to its wide price range and covers even the most demanding customers. You should not miss the opportunity to sample its cocktails to complement perfectly the beautiful sunset view, as well as its fine quality coffee Kimbo.
