Poros is an interesting destination for a day trip. It is the only masculine named island in the country and has a characteristic imposing Clock which has been overlooking the town since 1927. There is a great choice of things to do in a day.
The Archaeological Museum, the public library and the Poros Exhibition Center, ideal for those into culture. However, a walk through the pretty back streets, with their white-washed houses and colorful flowers, leading to the coast road lined with taverns and cafes which "look" onto the sea is a must.
Visit the following beaches for a dip: Limanaki tis Agapis (Love Port), the Russian naval base (with the 1834 monument) and in particular, the popular Askeli beach. Among the highlights worth visiting on Poros are the villa Galini, Zoodochos Pigi Monastery and the temple of Poseidon.
