National Gallery

The National Gallery of Nafplio has been part of the National Gallery-Andreas Soutzou Museum since 2004 and is housed in a beautiful neoclassical building on Sidiras Merarhias Street in the new town of Nafplio.

Mostly paintings (Gyzis, Litras, Vrizakis, Tsokos etc) are hosted in the rooms of the beautiful building, whose subject-matter is mainly the 1821 Struggle. They highlight the history and importance of the town of Nafplio during the Greek Revolution. The collection includes sculpted objects, as well as pieces of armor from the fighters.

In addition to the permanent exhibition, there is also a room which hosts temporary exhibitions.
