Nea Tiryns is located 5 Km from the center of Nafplio and is one of the areas well-worth visiting. Its original name was Kofini, before taking the name Nea Tiryns in 1953.
The most famous attraction here is the Acropolis of Nea Tiryns, which has been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Acropolis, which is of great archaeological interest, is built on a rocky hill 300 meters long, 100 meters wide and 26 meters in height and sits beside the Nafplio-Argos National Road. It size continues to impress people today.
