The custom of Klidona (June)

One of the most popular customs of the island is the custom of Klidona, taking place every year at the villages of Paros from 21 to 23 of June. During that time the residents of the village burn the Mayday wreaths (known as Maides) and jump over the fires, exorcising in this way the evil spirits.

In fact, according to tradition, their future husbands are revealed to the single ladies. The most famous of these customs take place in Naoussa, Aliki and Prodromos.
