One of the tours worth making is that of Arki, a tiny island of the Dodecanese that will offer you incredible images and moments of calm. Your destination is located close to the port of Patmos –from where ferries depart for Marathi, Arki and Lipsi– and a stone's throw from the borders of Greece with Turkey, the shores of which are indeed visible from the island.
The beautiful views, the enviable natural backdrop, the beaches and the tranquillity that prevails will captivate you. Reference point of the island are its stunning coastline. The most famous is called Tiganakia, which stands out for its crystal pool-like waters and rocky landscape that stretches all around it. You can reach here by car up to a point and then continue on foot.
Also worth visiting are the ruins of the old Italian observatory from WWII and the caves, which functioned as shelters, as well as the Church of Panagia Pantanassa in the ruins of the old village of the island.
If you find yourself on the island on 23 August, you should not miss the opportunity to attend the festival held on the central square with local food, traditional music and dancing.
The ticket price is €5.5/person, one way trip.
