Argalasti, the largest village in south Pelion, is found among olive groves, about 37km from Volos.

Here, you will find the Municipal Head Offices, as well as some neoclassic buildings that will definitely impress you. Don't forget to take a close look of the Girl's School building and Margaritis Dimadis's house, who was a member of the Filiki Etereia. The Agioi Apostoloi Petros and Pavlos three-aisled basilica, built in 1914 with local marble, featuring an impressive belfry at 45m, is also worth visiting.

Th small arched bridges such as the one in Katsilochori, and the drinking fountains made of stone are also quite impressive.

During the Revolution in 1821, the inhabitants of Argalasti fought bravely to drive the Ottomans away.
