The sea side part of Mouresi, Damouchari, is found at the small, picturesque port. It provides quiet and relaxing moments in a beautiful environment surrounded by the Aegean sea.
On the small peninsula formed by the two bays you will come across the ruins of a medieval castle. At the north bay there are tavernas, charming houses and the port (it used to be the only one in Pelion), where the crumbling customs building stands out, reminding you of a time when the village was a commercial hub. The beach at the south bay (called Palia Damouchari by the locals) stands out for the big white pebbles, crystal clear waters and the sea caves.
Visit the chapel of Agios Nikolas dating back to 1747 and admire the woodcut temple and the murals by Ionannis Pagonis that were made in 1800.
Damouchari became knwon worlwide after the film Mama Mia, starring Meryl Streep was filmed here.
