Gefsokratoras restaurant, at picturesque Portria, in the western part of Pelion, is housed in a traditional building dating back to 1900 which used to be a bakery-butcher's-grocery shop.
Even though it is rather pricey, the food is superb, made quality ingredients, the service is friendly and efficient and the interior is beautiful. The inspired dishes are intriguing in the most pleasant way.
Tiganopsomo (fried bread) stuffed with feta cheese, mozzarella and dill, aubergine caviar with mini sesame pita bread, sauteed bird livers flavoured with orange, mini beef fillets in butter and garlic with pappardelle in veal consomme and smoked tomato-pepper, beef shank cooked in a clay pot with pasta or baked potato, pancetta with honey and pure butter roasted-boiled with potatoes cooked in the oven, are some of the tempting dishes on the menu.
Don't forget to try one of the mouth-watering desserts, such as the white log with cinnamon biscuits.
