In central Pelion, after Vizitsa, 25km (40-minute car ride) from Volos, you will come across Pinakates, a beautiful and picturesque village.
It has been declared as a protected area since 1979 with a presidential decree due to its traditional style and atmosphere. The well-maintained old mansions are a main characteristic along with the cobbled streets and the wonderful landscape of Pelion.
At the main square you will see the church of Agios Dimitrios with an impressive drinking fountain made of marble made in 1894. You will also have the chance to taste local delicacies at the traditional tavernas.
